Mastretta Design developed a concept for a sportscar which is meant to be the first sportscar developed and produced in Mexico. So maybe in the near future people won't only think about Bocho (Beetle) and New Beetle when hearing the words "Mexico" and "car" but also the Mastretta MXT.
Here are some figures about the car:
- length: 3.90m
- width: 1.75m
- hight: 1.17m
- weight: 1,000kg
- motor: placed in the middle, 2.3L, 200hp
- 0-100km/h: 6,5s
- maximum speed: 230km/h
It has a steel frame with an aluminum monocoque. The car body is made of plastics. BTW, the airbag is optional.
Currently only a prototype exists. If everything works out as planned, Mastretta will present the car at the "Autoshow International de la Ciudad de México" in December and start serial production during the first quater of 2008.Are you ready for a test drive?

sorry, but I cannot understand why people like this car! It's ugly! And why should I pay heaps of money for a car that does not even look good?
I prefer a "Mini", which looks good and costs less! But of course I would take it if someone else pays for it - to sell it straight away and spend the money on something more suitable!
But well, I guess women have a different taste :-)
You can't call it ugly. It's not a Porsche, ok, but ugly... BTW, it's price will be about 40.000 € in Europe so no too expensive. Especially when you compare the size of a Mini to its price.
Good that no everybody has the same taste, right?
