Decisions...

I know I'm not the only one who has to make decisions these days. However, mine had to be a very quick one as I got the offer for a job starting 1st March. It is as a "trainee" at Bombardier Transportation (the train section of the company) in Siegen.

I hope it's the right decision...

If some of you are waiting for my emails, letters or phone calls, I already have to say sorry. Please be a little patient with me. I have to find at least a flat until next week and I guess I'll be a little busy with setteling there. But please know you'll year from me soon.

What cheers me up...

From the link list (right hand side) you might have guessed already that I'm a "Peanuts" fan. I'd like to share this one with you because it made my day today:

And the winner is...

The 2 weeks are over and so I will "officially" put an end to this Paper Boat Challenge. However, I won't publish the correct solutions and comments which definitely are more than just a hint yet. So those of you who want to continue are invited to do so.

First of all: Thanks to all of you who participated in my little puzzle!

One thing became clear quite soon: The puzzle has a weak part. It is possible to find out the saying without solving the rest. Ute and Anne demonstrated that by telling me the saying but confessing they had no idea how to solve it the correct way. This was 4 days after the challenge started.

The first one who sent me a complete solution was Michael (12th Feb.). So you are the winner (congratulations!) and can decide if you give me a topic to write a post about or if you would like to publish something yourself.

Nadja had the right idea 2 days later. Congratulations as well! You weren't as much behind Michael as you feared. BTW, you asked me to write about "tuition fees" when you won the first Paper Boat Challenge. I'm working on that and I'll publish it soon.

Vanessa found out which sport I meant quite quickly. I guess once you'll have a closer look again, you'll find the complete solution very quickly.

I hope you liked my puzzle and you are already curious about the next Challenge (first Monday in March).

New Paper Boat Challenge

About one and a half years ago I got to know the online game NOTPRON and became addicted (at least as long as a lot of fellow students played it, too, I had a lot of free time and a cheap internet access).

I tried to create a puzzle in the same way. Today I present it to you as the new Paper Boat Challenge. Here is what you should know:
  • The puzzle is the picture below.
  • The solution is a kind of saying.
  • You can ask me for hints by writing comments and I'll try to help you.
  • The competition will run for 2 weeks.
  • The one who tells me the solution (and HOW you solved it) first wins the competition and as last time can determine a topic I'll have to write about (or you write something yourself).
I wish you good luck!

Super Tonio

Here is another "big" news from Mexico.

Yesterday a boy with a weight of 6.6 kg was born in Cancún, Mexico. On the pic you can see the difference between this big boy - called "Gordito" (= fatty) in Mexico - and a "normal" baby.

His real name is Antonio (explaining the heading) and he seems to be a real attraction in Mexico because many people came to see him in the hospital.

BTW: His sister who was born 7 years ago wasn't weedy either, weighing 5.2 kg. However, the world rocord holder is an Italian boy whose weight was 10.2 kg.
